97 witnesses to testify

SHAH ALAM: The inquest into the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock is expected to hear the testimony of a total of 97 witnesses.

Proceedings are expected to take an interesting turn today when expert witnesses from the Chemistry Department are scheduled to reveal their findings.

Lawyer Tan Hock Chuan, who is appointed by the government to assist coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas, said the three chemists scheduled to be questioned today had prepared three reports.

The first one is on toxicology, the second criminology and the third one is a DNA report, he said.

Three pathologists will be called to testify after the chemists.

Tan is assisted by DPP Mohd Abazafree Mohd Abbas.

Outside the court, Gobind Singh Deo who is representing Teoh’s family, told reporters that a visit to the scene where Teoh died would take place tomorrow.
